Mature Age Allowance

Overview

From 20 March 2009,  Mature Age Allowance (MAA) can no longer be claimed. All MAA customers have been transferred to Age Pension.  Refer to the link below for aged pension rates.

If you were an older person and you were disadvantaged in the labour market, you may have been able to get Mature Age Allowance. You did not have to meet an activity test and you did not need to look for work or do training. You were automatically transferred to Age Pension when you reached Age Pension age. Note: You have not been able to claim the Mature Age Allowance since 20/9/2003 but you were able to continue to get this payment if you were already getting it on 19/9/2003.
